Iteration is key!

One important rule when creating anything new is to iterate over and over.

My core Time Consumers

My main interests at present are in these areas:

  1. Startups
  2. Robotics
  3. Gaming

There was a time when Gaming was at the top of the list. I’m losing interest in it, not because I don’t love it. Instead, I have been looking hard at the outcomes of gaming and reached a point where the gains no longer outweigh the losses. Hence, I am in the process of weaning it out.

What is My Purpose?

I have been working on this question for some time now. I still haven’t gotten a convincing answer for this. So, for the time being, my immediate focus is to get my lower horizons (Actions & Calendar, Projects and Areas of focus) ironed out well and get the fundamentals right. Will get to this later!

I value the "Getting Things Done" methodology. I have learned so much from it.
For those in the know, I'm still mastering the act of falling off & on to the wagon!

My Vision for the next 5 years

My vision for the next five years goes as follows:

  1. On the career front, I want to master taking products from “idea to market” asap
    • To enable this, I’m building a protocol that can be reused by myself and anyone to take their product from “idea to market.”
  2. On the health front, I want to reduce to a healthy BMI.
    • I have already built the discipline and have been doing intermittent fasting for three years.
    • Now, I’m trying to add physical fitness, focusing on flexibility and longevity.
  3. On the people front, I want to be available for my people.
    • I have failed in this area for a decade of working 10+ hours a day 6 days a week.
    • Burnt myself out at work and had nothing left to give to my loved ones.
    • Now, I’m bringing more balance between my work and life and be present for others.
  4. On the learning front, keeps changing every week. This is the child in me that is fascinated by everything and want to try everything with no boundaries.
    • By no means, this is efficient or even thorough.
    • I would rather learn what I enjoy at the moment.
    • My aim is to continue learning lifelong.

Years Of Experience

My core competency is building ideas to market ready organizations. For over a decade, I have worked as employee #1 in 5 different “idea to market” organizations and have twice built products up on my own.

My journey started before startups were cool. In my bachelor’s, I worked in a student group and understood the value of being proactive and curious.

My masters in Europe opened up the weaknesses in my knowledge, commitment, and general approach to life. When I couldn’t secure my Ph.D. applications, I spent years blaming the system instead of looking at the gaps in my capabilities.

After a character pruning year of being back in India with a double master’s degree in robotics and without a single prospect of a job, I joined a budding organisation Lema Labs, in IITM. I knew I couldn’t half-ass life anymore.

Thus, started a journey of more than a decade where I worked hard, sometimes too hard. All these experiences have helped me build a unique perspective.

I’m a robotics engineer who has worked in various capacities, from heading the robotics division and product development to handling operations, customer retention, and business development. This led to my “idea to market” vision for my future.

How Can I Help You With Your Next Adventure?

Something I do on the side is being a bouncing board for anyone who is working on new ideas. My simple goal is to tell them openly the failures of my past, so they need not fall into the same pits and possibly find new ones of their own 🙂

Just find me on LinkedIn and send me a connect and say “Want to bounce an idea”. I will always find time for bouncing ideas.

Here are my weaknesses before you approach me.

  1. I am neither a guru nor an expert
  2. I prefer being outright open than be diplomatic.
    •  My wife is still pruning this out of me but in vain.
  3.  I play too much of a devil’s advocate which can rub people the wrong way.
